A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, GHSA represents the state and territorial highway safety offices that implement programs to address behavioral issues, including: occupant protection, impaired driving, speeding, aggressive driving, distracted driving, motorcycle safety, and pedestrian and bicycle safety. |

The name was changed to Automotive Occupant Restraints Council (AORC) in 1988 to better represent its diverse membership, which is now international and includes manufacturers and suppliers of air bags, air bag components, and seat belts, as well as automotive seating and interior safety components. |

The Traffic Improvement Association (TIA) is a non-profit traffic safety organization in Oakland County, Michigan. TIA was organized in 1967 by community leaders to address adverse traffic safety issues facing Oakland County. Since that time, TIA has evolved into a full service traffic safety partner with member communities in Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne Counties. The mission of the Traffic Improvement Association shall be to facilitate engineering, education, and enforcement programs that reduce human and economic losses caused by traffic crashes and congestion. |

The mission of MADD is to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. MADD was incorporated on September 5, 1980. The mission or purposes of MADD as stated in its Articles of Incorporation were βTo aid the victims of crimes performed by individuals driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, to aid the families of such victims and to increase public awareness of the problem of drinking and drugged driving." |

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is an independent, nonprofit, scientific, and educational organization dedicated to reducing the losses β deaths, injuries, and property damage β from crashes on the nation's highways. The Highway Loss Data Institute shares and supports this mission through scientific studies of insurance data representing the human and economic losses resulting from the ownership and operation of different types of vehicles and by publishing insurance loss results by vehicle make and model. Both organizations are wholly supported by auto insurers. |

The Intelligent Transportation Society of Michigan is an organization of leaders, a central point of contact where industry can be in touch with leaders of transportation and education. ITS Michigan is a forum that allows a diverse group of people to provide insight on current ITS projects, as well as develop ideas for the future. ITS Michigan members are involved in research at outstanding Michigan universities and institutional research organizations, and is an advocacy group, promoting the importance of ITS at business meetings and other forums. |
